Accompanying Coyle in the car was Atapattu’s uncle, Vernon Tissera, who quickly explained to his niece that Australia is significantly different to Sri Lanka and there was a fair chance she might never hear a sound of a horn during her tenure down under.

England’s Tom Curran is not the only cricketer who missed his maiden Test wicket of a no ball.  There are five other “unlucky” Test cricketers in the list, but England’s Tom Curran is the only bowler, who, while playing in his debut Test, grabbed the wicket of the batsman at his individual score of 99 runs. In the ongoing Ashes Test in Melbourne, his victim David Warner survived.

Hathurusingha as New Broom?

The employment of a sports psychologist and tapping into the wealth of knowledge in Sri Lanka’s network of former players are among new coach Chandika Hathurusingha‘s first moves towards rehabilitating Sri Lanka Cricket.

“I will get Kumar Sangakkara‘s expertise and invite him to come and help us. If I don’t look for his help, then I will be wasting this opportunity I’ve been given,” Hathurusingha said to the media, following a prolonged training session with a pool of 23 players, some of whom will be travelling to Bangladesh next month.
