Dr. David Young: Orthopaedic Surgeon Extraordinary … and Cricketers’ Saviour

” World’s renowned Orthopaedic doctor David Young will travel to Bangladesh next month for some medical conference and will also witness Sri Lanka’s few matches. During his visit the Australian surgeon will meet few Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials.

Speaking exclusively over his mobile from Melbourneon Tuesday morning, he said, “I am going to the Bangladesh Orthopaedic Societies Annual Scientific meeting starting 3rd Feb 2018 in Dhaka”. “I am excited to be invited to meet the Bangladesh Cricket Board and watch some of the Sri Lankan vs Bangladesh cricket series. Sharing knowledge of cricket injuries between all cricket playing nations is very important. Keeping the best players on the ground at all possible times is the key to success”, he added.

Sanath Jayasuriya surgery: Incidentally, Dr. Young will also examine former Sri Lanka captain and selector Sanath Jayasuriya early next week.  “Jayasuriya is arriving in Australia and I shall examine him on 8th January“. Dr. Young however, refused to divulge the details of the surgery, if at all to be performed, on 48-year-old Jayasuriya. “I cannot talk about patients and what surgery they are having”, he said. Jayasuriya is likely to go under knife for his knee problem, it is learnt from Colombo.
